This video shows the restoration of the universal motor from a Gerinvex or KB Discomatic portable jukebox. These motors are a shaded pole design that is often found in small mechanisms and record players, also in many small domestic appliances such as cooling fans and the fans fitted in ovens. In this case the motor had overheated and melted the plastic bobbins that carry the two motor windings. In the video I completely strip the motor, design and assemble some new bobbins, make a coil-winder to wind new coils on the bobbins, then reassemble the motor to operate the mechanism again.
