CEBU DIARIES: 6 Days of Bookstore Dates, Matcha, & High School Besties 🌊📖☕️ And so my Cebu trip began... ✨ I recently took a 6-day trip back to Cebu to meet my long-time high school friends. If you know us, you know the chika never ends! My journey started with me boarding the OceanJet for an afternoon ferry ride. When I arrived, the taxi line was a struggle, so I decided to just ride via motorcycle—haha! Honestly, it was the best way to get through the city. Since my friend lives a city away, we met up at Ayala Center Cebu. While waiting, I spent my time browsing through Fullybooked. I found so many treasures, especially Ghibli books and some of my favorite popular authors! Of course, I didn't buy anything—it was only my first day! haha... My friend found me in the bookstore and we headed straight to Pancake House. I’ve missed their pancakes and bacon so much! We even got a free pancake just for filling out their survey. We also squeezed in a quick trip to National Bookstore to check out their Sulit Read finds. But the day didn’t end there! We hit up Starbucks for some matcha (which was super good!). Just when I thought my college friend wouldn’t be free (since they work at the same company), she surprised me at the end! Even though it was a short meet-up, I’m so glad we got to catch up. I finally settled into my friend's sister's condo—I’m so grateful she let me stay there! We set up our laptops and started "working," but let’s be real... it was mostly more chika. haha! The Highlights: The Food & Drinks: Matcha shop hopping and home-cooked meals prepped by our friend who lives just a condo away! The Budol: My friends introduced me to KKV and Flying Tiger... and sakto jud, nabudol jud ko! haha! I also spent way too much time tempted by art materials at Art Bar. The Heart of the Trip: The best part was definitely just being with my friends. We dined together and gave each other life updates. We shared our interests in journaling, diaries, and reading. And of course, since we are in our Tita and Tito era, the conversation eventually shifted to health issues and concerns! haha! I’m not sure when we can do this again, but I’m hoping we can meet at least once a year. After all, I’m just an island away! Even for our friends living abroad, we always try to meet when they come home to Cebu. We may have separate lives in different stages or seasons, but I treasure these people I grew up with—some since Grade 1 and Grade 3. I am so grateful for this circle. No matter where life gets us, I hope we always stay connected. Till then! 🤍 sub count: 5 #CebuTrip #Vlog #HighSchoolReunion #TitaEra #CebuVlog #BookstoreDates #MatchaLover #Oceanjet #KKVBudol #FriendshipGoals #TravelPhilippines
