From international student to lecturer in the UK: Introduction

Hi all, welcome back to my channel. In this video, I talk through the aim of deciding to start talking about my journey from being an international student to becoming a lecturer in the UK. I intend to being this conversation to support students and prospective students on the intricacies of studying in the UK. My conversations will be geared towards international students but will also be useful to all students in higher education in the UK and other western countries. From starting my master degree in public health, I was able to secure scholarship for a doctoral degree and then moved on to secure two jobs right after my viva voce. Please note: This video draws on my experiences of studying in the UK #internationstudent, #studyingabroad, #students, #academia Who I am : I am a lecturer in public health in a higher education institution in the UK. I came into the UK as an international student. Using strategies that I will be sharing on this channel, I was able to secure a PhD scholarship on my first application. So in essence, I discuss useful academic tips to maximise benefit of being a student in the UK. I draw on my experiences as both student and an academic to propel you to success.
