Blast from a long gone past is what I would say about this video. So much has changed from you see in the video - the station is now a double mainline station with two loops, the trees are all gone, the WDM3A in the picture has been condemned and the train waiting in the picture runs with a LHB rake. On a quiet Saturday 3 years back, the 20652 Shivamogga Town - KSR Bengaluru Intercity Express hauled by Krishnarajapuram WDP-4 #20019 picks up pace after getting the all clear starter and advanced starter signal as it moves through Mallasandra station while the train in waiting was the triweekly 16579 Yeswantpur - Shivamogga Intercity hauled by a KJM alco. Tose were the initial days of the intercity when it hardly had any demand. Things changed dramatically and it became a much sought after train after it got new LHB coches. Enjoy this piece of history!
