Short video showing how to test to see if your ALC Relay in your air ride suspension is good. This relay is connected to the side of the fuse box under your hood. The side parallel to the wheel. I tested this after I knew my exhaust solenoid on my Arnott compressor was good and confirmed that the compressor kicks on by jumpering pins 30 and 87 in this relay's socket. I mention a forum in the video ( http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/dire... ) This forum discussion really helped me understand more about the air ride system on my vehicle, but how they said to test the ALC relay is wrong or I just didn't understand it correctly. Apply 12v to 86 and ground to 85 and hear the relay click. Measure resistance across pins 30 and 87 (with 12v still applied) and you should get near 0 resistance. Removing 12v, you will have an open circuit across 30 to 87. Resistance from 86 to 85 (without 12v was about 82 on my relay)
