Whilst the rest of the grid switched to the new V8 Engine regulations Toro Rosso were given special permission to use restricted versions of the V10 engine. These days the STR1 can still be found competing on circuits all around Europe in the BOSS GP Series in the hands of Ingo Gerstl of the Top Speed team.
