Kausalya is a musicologist and vainika hailing from Thillaisthanam, a small hamlet along the banks of the river Cauvery in Thanjavur. She retired as the Principal of Thiruvaiyaru music college whilst having served on the boards of prestigious organizations and institutions across the country. She is the founder of Marabu Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to spread our culture and heritage.
