Beta has been weird. The game runs terribly, but using DLSS makes it blurry and doesn't fix the massive amount of cpu-bound issues and stutters. The weapons have also felt odd to play, most feel slower and the tiny input buffer from Rise is back. Some weapons like Hammer have a ton of new and improved tools while others don't feel so great. Greatsword felt extremely underwhelming until I started playing around with the charge uppercut, which is a move I've been asking for for years now. It's a counter that either fully staggers the monster (canceling out their hitbox) and leads to a followup or gives tackle style hyperarmor/damage reduction on a non-staggering hit. You HAVE to hit some part of the monster so it doesn't seem like you can counter roars or projectiles from a distance. It also needs to be released extremely early before the attack connects. The playstyle is a lot more freeform now that TCS has been nerfed into near uselessness (it only does 50% more damage than a charged draw slash) and you can use draw/strong charges when not fishing for opportunities for a counter. Fine by me, since that's how I played it in World anyway. Lastly the monsters are fun but the map is beyond terrible.
