Highlights of Oriental Fantasy (1) - 1940s Suite - Tribute to Tahia Carioca

1940s Suite Tribute to Madame Tahia Carioca After long and detailed research in Egypt Beata & Horacio Cifuentes created a suite of four dances in the style of the 1940s. As the biggest stars representing the „Golden Era“ they invited Madame Samia Gamal and Madame Tahia Carioca to Berlin. Due to illness Madame Samia Gamal could not attend but luckily Madame Tahia Carioca was able to be part of the Oriental Fantasy Festival and the participants were able to meet an icon of the Egyptian movie industry and theatre in person. In the dance academy of Beata & Horacio she gave an interview and spoke about the dance and music of her time. Her account of her work as a dancer/actress in film, theatre and later television was very interesting, a rare chance and highly appreciated by all who were fortunate enough to be present.
