Host: Catherin Thuam Ngaih Nem Phd Candidate Kannur University, Kerala Dorothy Ngaihlian is a Research Associate at CEASP, Editor-in-Chief at THELIFTEDVIEL, and a mentor at the Sahara Sisters’ Collective. She completed her Master’s degree in Philosophy at the University of Mumbai and holds diplomas and certificates in Foundations of Cognitive Robotics, Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Indian Aesthetics, Feminism and Social Justice. Her research focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence and the philosophy of consciousness, examining foundational questions about whether emerging intelligent systems and machines can possess mentality, understanding, or consciousness. In parallel, she researches feminism, the limits of AI in GBV justice, and the tensions between AI ethics and women’s rights. She also leads multiple ongoing projects: Letters from Abem, a reflective space for thinking through feminism and resistance; Dorothy’s Lyceum, a platform for radical philosophical inquiry; and The Lyceum-Agora, an interdisciplinary YouTube channel she co-hosts exploring philosophy, AI, language, poetry, history, mythology, and more.
