Xeno rework came with some new music, wave rebalances to make it less of a snoozefest, less overall RNG, and difficulty scaling being much more fair overall. Waves 28-30 are quite brutal with this loadout (as given by the near deaths I experienced), so this could take a few tries. This loadout also works in No Sniper Challenge (No Lv40/Shape too, but you'll have to use pistoleer or something as your early game tower) as a result of the revamp and HP scaling.
