Welcome to week #2 - In the series "Make Me Over" "I'm not Stuck, I'M STILL" This week we look at the difference between being STUCK (An Unintentional act) vs. being STILL (Intentional Move) Psalm 46:10 "Be Still and KNOW that I AM God" Characteristics of BEING STILL: 1. Being STILL is ACTIVE even though it LOOKS quiet. 2. It is a Pause with a PURPOSE “I’M PAUSING ON PURPOSE” a. A moment of grounding, noticing, breathing, gathering clarity. 3. Intentional stop so you can listen 4. Stillness feels calm even if you’re uncertain 5. Stillness Replenishes a. It creates space for insight 6. When you are STILL you can feel yourself shifting a. Changing in mind, thought b. New ideas coming forth c. clarity 7. Stillness is a CHOICE (DECISION) Characteristics of Being STUCK: 1. It’s a Pause made out of resistance, fear, confusion or exhaustion 2. It is RESTLESS and not Restful 3. When Stuck you feel Foggy or Heavy 4. There is no sense of inner movement 5. Being Stuck drains rather than restores 6. STUCK HAPPENS WHEN THE PAUSE CONTROLS YOU instead of YOU CONTROLLING THE PAUSE 7. Being Stuck keeps you circling SEVERAL REASONS WHY THE ENEMY DOES NOT WANT YOU TO BE STILL: 1. The enemy does not want you to see GOD’S Power at work a. Deut 20:1-4 i. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them; for the Lord your God is He who goes WITH you to fight for you against your enemies, to save you” 2. The enemy does not want you to TRUST and have Total Confidence in God a. Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not to thine own understanding, but in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct thy path 3. The enemy wants you to remain confused, in fear, and in doubt. (Your faith will be challenged)
