Derek Latham, Allan Morrison, Bob Hawkins and Barry Joyce talk about the three barns at Chatsworth that were offered to The Derbyshire Historic Buildings Trust as a pilot scheme in 1977. The concept of a 'stone tent' was created - meaning they were a more permanent form of a canvas tent - and the 3 barns were repaired to be used as simple camping barns. This initiative set a gold standard, which soon found many imitators. The discussion follows with reflection on the development of the Trust right up to the current day and the recent successful completion of works at Wingfield Station (where this film was created).
