Rare Amtrak MP15 Leads the Way in New England on the Portland Extra

A few weeks ago, the round trip of the Amtrak Portland extra to and from Maine had a very rare Amtrak EMD MP15 on it which has almost never happened. On the Northbound trip, the MP15 was put on as it was the only engine in Boston to power the move up to Brunswick Maine. 2 days later and the Southbound run had the MP15 in the consist returning to Boston. I must say the move back to Boston was one of those "what the hell" consist with all different types of amtrak coaches separating each engine/control unit on the train. Additionally, while on the chase we got NHN DOBO with 3823's amazing RS5T and the GP9 1801 cut in for power. Also we got CSX L080 knocking down the Searchlight Signal in East Kingston New Hampshire where the time remaining for those signals should be coming down to weeks now. Insane thunderstorms developed right over Boston as we were chasing the southbound move and that lead to some epic lightning shots!
