Q&A WITH DR. ALEX FACQUE: How can I get the most out of my facial surgery consultation? There is no charge for any kind of consultation, whether virtual or in-person. We offer both virtual and in-person consultation options with our expert surgeons. To start this process, fill out our consultation request form to tell us about yourself, the procedure(s) you are interested in, and how you plan on paying for your surgery. We can help you secure insurance coverage and/or connect you with financing resources if necessary. Once you have filled out the form, our patient care coordinator will reach out to you to request that you send us photos of yourself through our secure patient portal. 📢PLEASE NOTE For BOTTOM SURGERY: 🔹Cash pay patients: Per the WPATH’s Soc 8 guidelines, patients need 1 support letter from a licensed mental health professional to be eligible. 🔹Insurance patients: Most insurances require 2 support letters. Our team can help with: (1) Figuring out how many letters your insurance requires (2) Finding support letters if needed. Patients who are legal adults do not need support documents to book a consultation for any other procedure(s). From there, our patient care coordinator will contact you to schedule a phone consultation with GCC surgeons. The consultation process is about building trust and a good rapport with GCC surgeons as well as having all your questions answered. Being completely informed about the process allows you to make the best possible decisions about your surgery. Virtual consultations can be carried out over the phone or through video conferencing. During your consultation, it is important to be honest about your goals and expectations. You should also come prepared to discuss your medical history. You can find more detailed information on the virtual consultation and insurance approval processes here: genderconfirmation.com/virtual-consultation/ Consultation request form: genderconfirmation.com/consultation-request/ During surgery, the areas of the face that can be targeted are those that are most influenced by hormones during puberty. Gender Confirming Facial Surgery (GCFS) can reduce or remove the impacts of testosterone on one’s face, or augment areas of the face that would have been impacted by testosterone when there has been an absence of it during one’s initial puberty. GCFS can change the bones, skin, and soft tissues of the face. ⠀ It is important to note that not all transgender and nonbinary people experience gender incongruence associated with their face. This content is not meant to prescribe a one-size-fits-all method of facial surgery or suggest that trans people need to undergo GCFS in order to feel aligned with their gender. This content is meant to guide and inform people who want to learn more about facial surgery, the procedures available, and to help prospective patients make informed decisions about their potential surgical goals and outcomes.⠀ ⠀ For more educational resources about gender-affirming facial surgeries: genderconfirmation.com/what-is-ffs/ ⠀ Please visit our website: genderconfirmation.com ⠀⠀ #DrFacque #DrLey #DrMosser #GenderConfirmationCenter #trans #transgender #transisbeautiful #sanfrancisco #AllGender #GenderAffirmingCare #TransCare #transproud #Transpride #transgendersurgery #nonbinary #nonbinarysurgery #ffs #fms #facialsurgery #facialfeminization #facialmasculinization #gcfs
