Perla Bautista, born on February 18, 1940, in Manila, Philippines, is a distinguished Filipino actress with a prolific career spanning over six decades. She has appeared in more than 250 films and television shows, earning critical acclaim and numerous awards. Bautista began her acting journey at the age of 17, joining LVN Pictures alongside other teenage stars. She made her formal debut in the movie "Eddie, Junior Detective" (1958). Her early filmography includes notable titles such as "Malvarosa" (1958), "Casa Grande" (1958), and "Venganza" (1958). She gained significant recognition for her role in "Markang Rehas" (1962), for which she won the FAMAS Best Actress Award. Throughout her career, Bautista has portrayed a wide range of characters, showcasing her versatility as an actress. She received the Gawad Urian Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in "Anak ng Cabron" (1988).
