Upon takeoff, the glider felt as if one trimmer was in while the other was out, as it felt like it wanted to turn even with toggles stowed. I looked up and verified that there were no tangles/knots/debris/etc that I could see. I adjusted the trims a bit to keep the glider flying relatively straight with minimal input, while I used weight shift mostly to circle around while gaining altitude and putting my gloves on. I was about to work on taking off the helmet mounted cam and stowing it as I was about to take part in a commercial shoot for SENA Technologies, and was not permitted to have the camera in the shot. I decided to trim all the way in and also engage the AFS (flaps ) system on my DUDEK Hadron XX 18m glider in attempt to fly in the most efficient configuration requiring minimal throttle / fuel to gain altitude to ensure I have enough fuel for this shoot). Almost immediately after pulling trims in the right side of the glider stalled and spun. Due to myself already being spooked by the odd handling and behavior of my glider and considering I was already pretty low in altitude, I decided to just deploy my reserve parachute, rather than risk trying to pull out of the helico as I know things can get hairy when a glider starts spinning. Had I not had the reserve, I am sure I would have recovered from the spin and landed safely, but I decided to use what I felt was my safest option available considering all factors. I suspect the the primary contributing factor to my glider spinning is due to not having my glider throughly inspected and repaired by the specialists (ie Michelle / Paramotor City, SuperFly, Elisabeth /Paratour etc, instead I had my old local Instructor out of Boulder perform my repairs, and I have never been too particularly confident in his work, often using whatever he has in stock to make the repairs and not using the same spec lines, not accurately measuring, etc. I feel like he does not realize these high performance so-called "reflex" style gliders are so much more sensitive and complex than traditional conventional PG style gliders (think tip steering /3d steering systems, extra set of trimmers on Dudek gliders (AFS), etc) My old PG instructor did not even know what a reflex glider was and did not see tip steering before LOL. I am guessing my right brake line is too short which which caused the spin when I trimmed all the way in... Please get your gliders annually inspected even if they "appear" to look ok, especially if you have had any repairs! I also think that the Fully trimmed in configuration (with "AFS system" engaged as well) on the Dudek Hadron XX glider seems like a stall prone configuration, unless something is really off with my glider's line-set... I was completely uninjured bust broke a carbon fiber axel on the trike, a prop, and fuel tank, and lost my $1600 s10 + 1TB samsung phone which fell out of the reserve container pocket upon deployment :-( This video may not be ripped or republished without my express written consent.
