NCHC21 BHAP: Telling the Story of Honors through Fractal Messaging

Administrators should be able to tell the story of their honors program consistently and ensure others can do the same. Dr. Christopher Syrnyk's approach is titled fractal messaging: it relies on fractal patterning to develop a recognizable message regardless of the scale of the message. With fractal messaging, administrators can introduce an honors program to those unfamiliar with honors programs, or talk about them on a larger scale, with recognizable self-similarity, when provided with the opportunity to talk at length. Fractal messaging equips administrators to take the complex nature of an honors program and express its story at different scales. At NCHC's Annual Conference, Best Honors Administrative Practices (BHAP) provides a series of short presentations that propose examples, experiments, innovative ideas, or research that highlight the future of honors administrative practices for an engaged community.
