There is one more thing that all visitors love about Alappuzha, its delicious seafood cuisine. When I was invited by a Food N Travel friend, Sangeeth, for a lunch at his home in Harippad close to Alappuzha, the fish lover in me was awakened. Sangeeth and his family run a business of home delivery of leaf-packed lunch. They have named it Happy Fingers. His mother is in charge of the cooking process, and all other family members help her. When I saw the cooking process, I understood that the lunch was to be delicious. There was a motherly touch in every dish that was cooked. Their lunch menu included a variety of vegetarian and nonvegetarian items including sambar, aviyal, fish fry, and a lot more. When the enormous spread was laid out before me, I was confused about where to start. They served me a sample of the banana leaf packed lunch with a host of other dishes. There were several tiny leaf wraps inside the main one, each of which contained a delicious item. Among all the dishes that I tasted from Sangeeth's home, there were three dishes that I loved a lot, konju vada, crab curry, and podimeen fry. Konjuvada is the name given to shrimps ground with masala and fried as small balls. It was the first time I tasted it. It was a mouth-watering treat! As for the crab curry, it was totally different from the usual crab roasts that I had tried till then. Spicy and delicious! Podimeen fry had small fish fried crisply with curry leaves and spices. Altogether, I enjoyed the food from Happy Fingers.
