FusionFall was an Action-based MMO released in 2009. The game was Developed by Cartoon Network and South Korean studio Grigon Entertainment, and was Published by Cartoon Network, Majesco Entertainment. It was shut down in 2013 but access to the game files has since been published and freely accessible to the public to play. STORY: 14/20 The story, Under the control of Lord Fuse, Planet Fusion travels through the universe. He is destroying planets by devouring them, and Earth becomes the next target. To do so, he drops Fusion Matter that takes a warped monster-like shape of objects nearby. The goal is to prevent the enemies' plan and defeat them. The game is set in the future and in the universe of Cartoon Network characters. It brings a mishmash of all the older CN's characters to one game, such as Power Puff Girls, Dexter's Lab, Ben 10, Samurai Jack, Ed Edd and Eddy, and many others. GRAPHICS: 15/20 Because the graphics are anime-cell shaded (ish) the game has aged pretty well considering. Character designs, anime artwork, areas, monsters, even down to building shop/store logos all still look pretty nice and even all the equipment looks great. Attacks look okay but not a great selectin of looks to them honestly which is a shame. Different areas look great, like the earth type place as seen in my video but there's also other planets you go to that all look different in their own styles. SOUND: 15/20 The sound is great, mostly voice-acted within the training and cutscene sections which is nice. The music (OST) is nice and you'll hear various versions of tracks you'll notice from the cartoons/animes themselves. The Sound effects are nice though far and few between as it seems with what I had played. I didn't come across any annoying sound effects when playing so that's a bonus. GAMEPLAY: 12/20 Simple and basic run of the mill MMO stuff that plagued the early 2000's mmos. W, S, A, D movement, target to aim with auto shooting on monsters where the target will switch to the next monster if your close enough automatically. You have jumping in this mmo also where you can jump over obstacles, take part in races and such for rewards. My issue with this game is attacks and spells are lock onto you so there's no dodging them, so it's just basic hit monster you get hit, hit monster, you get hit, until the first one dies who has the lowest HP. You get little companions to follow you around that can learn skills that can help you in battle or skills that will help you in the background by granting bonuses. I think the game will soon enough turn into mindless fun with the way the controls are handled eventually, so don't expect to enjoy every moment you play this game. SYSTEMS: 15/20 There's a few systems in place that get gradually opened up to you as you progress, one being the use of mini versions of some of the game's NPC characters, these will grant you in battle and out of battle skills depending on what you choose. Of course, NO MMO would be complete without equipment and item stores and such. The jump system is responsive so that's all fine and used for things such as mini-games, and exploring. There was probably a lot more systems in the game later but only played for what I did. Menu systems all look nice and clean, no clutter and easy to understand and follow, they look quite nice also. There's a guide system, The four guides available are Ben Tennyson, Dexter, Edd, and Mojo Jojo who will all give Quests (Missions) for you to complete to advance the game's story. On certain Holidays the game used to do event where you can get items and rewards for that holiday season but is unclear if you can with this version. OVER ALL: 71/100 It's a Cartoon Network early 2000's nostalgia trip, is it a perfect MMO..? NO! ..but is it worth the time to check it out? YES! go try it now. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you're interested in trying this game out then you can find it here.. https://github.com/OpenFusionProject/...
