Employees of Nutrition Bar Confectioners in Cato said dozens of workers were detained in a federal operation on Thursday. There has been a heavy law enforcement presence on Route 34 in Cato. The family-owned company produces nutrition bars, protein bars and meal replacement bars among other packaged goods. Employees told CNY Central that around 60 workers were detained in the matter and separated into groups of citizens and non-citizens. The employees said many were taken away in unmarked vehicles. The operation occurred just before 9 a.m. Immigration, Customs & Enforcement confirmed that this was a "court-authorized enforcement action." It would not release additional information.
