In the Dutch Polders, this all-new Rumex RXF 900 Spotsprayer has seen its first acres spraying against sorrel. A weed with the Latin name Rumex acetosa. The machine is used by Dutch contractor De Vlijt located in the Noord-Beemster. A spot sprayer recognises the plants in front of it with camera technology and only spray's of the unwanted weeds. acheaving a reduction of up to 90% in the used chemicals, according to the contractor. The contractor upgraded from the 6-meter version to this 9-meter version this year. Currently, the machine is only spraying sorrel on the grass fields, but when the arable crops are planted, the contractor is planning to use them in those crops as well. De nieuwe Rumex RXF 900 spotsprayer met been werkbreedte van 9 meter in sinds deze week aan het werk in de Noord-Hollandse polders. Loonbedrijf De Vlijt uit de Noord Beemster (NH.) zet de machine in om veldzuring in grasland te bestreiden, een onkruid met de Latijnse naam Rumex acetosa. Een spotsprayer herkendt met cameratechniek het onkruid dat tussen het gewas staat. Op het moment dat het onkruid onder de machine door gaat wordt alleen dat plantje bespoten. Hiermee wordt een reductie in middelen van tot wel 90% behaald, aldus de loonwerker. De Vlijt heeft dit jaar de nieuwe Rumex RXF 900 ingeruild op de Rumex RXF 600 die het bedrijf vorig jaar gebruikte. Naast drie meter extra werkbreedte wil het bedrijf de nieuwe spotsprayer ook in de akkerbouwgewassen inzetten, zodra daar onkruid in zichtbaar is.
