🎓 The University of The Gambia welcomes its newest cohort of students into the academic family! The 14th Matriculation Ceremony of the University of The Gambia marks the official induction of newly admitted students into the UTG community, which is The Gambia’s highest and most prestigious institution of higher learning. Held on Wednesday, 22nd October 2025, at 10:00 A.M., the ceremony took place at the UTG/WASCAL Ground, Kanifing Campus, bringing together students admitted during the 2nd Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year and the 1st Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year. This video features the full matriculation address delivered by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Herbert Robinson, highlighting the university’s commitment to academic excellence, discipline, innovation, and service to humanity. Matriculation is one of the oldest and most symbolic university traditions, signifying a student’s formal acceptance into the academic community. It is during this ceremony that students take the Matriculation Oath, pledging to uphold the university’s values, ethics, and standards of scholarship.
