Amid the Partygate scandal, Conservative Tiverton and Honiton MP Neil Parish resigned for watching porn in the House of Commons. But for voters we spoke to there are more pressing issues determining the way they vote. Subscribe on YouTube:    / @newstatesman   When Neil Parish resigned in shame after watching pornography in the Commons chamber it was the latest in a set of scandals - including 'partygate' and a string of sexual misconduct allegations - engulfing the Conservative Party under Boris Johnson. Parish's resignation triggered a by-election in his constituency of Tiverton and Honiton, which, according to Ed Davey, the Liberal Democrats see as an opportunity to overturn an otherwise 'safe' Conservative majority (Tiverton and Honiton have had a Conservative MP since the second world war). The New Statesman visited the Devon constituency ahead of the 2022 by-election to speak to voters to find out whether Partygate, Neil Parish's behaviour, and other Tory scandals would really affect the way they vote. We also met Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey to ask why he believes the Lib Dems have a chance in Tiverton and Honiton - and whether they are co-ordinating with the Labour Party by NOT campaigining in Wakefield, which faces a by-election on the same day.
