I wasn’t planning to find anything special… But West Bali surprised me. We stayed at Plataran Menjangan, deep inside the West Bali National Park — and yes, Menjangan means “deer” in Balinese, but I didn’t expect to actually see any… until I did. The forest road was quiet, the kayaking peaceful (even if it was a bit too hot by noon), and the whole place felt like a different world compared to busy South Bali. Later, we continued to Munduk and ended up learning how to make jaje Bali (a sweet cassava snack) and tried mejajaitan — the beautiful daily offerings you see all around Bali. This trip reminded me that Bali is more than cafes and beach clubs. It’s about nature, culture, kindness, and connection. Would you explore West Bali?
