Welcome to the world of ATSPACE. I'm Paul Whiffin, and this is a short video im going to be answering the question we keep getting "How is an air pressure test performed?." Here he is. Here's Keith one of our superstars turning up to one of our recent projects. After his cup of tea and biscuit, he's straight into action measuring up the envelope which consists of all the external leakage areas including walls, floors and roof areas. Now to prepare the property properly by closing and sealing all ventilation within the build as we are calculating the air leakage from the uncontrolled areas. Please make sure all waste pipes have water in the traps, so we don't push or pull air out of. Barometric pressure was taken, along with the internal and external temperatures. We then position external pipe put down the side of the house. Now the fun bit. Now to fit and adjust temporary door frame. Then the fancy red door skin fixed temporarily into position around the frame. The external pipe is pulled through and the fan fitted into the door skin Then we position the Internal pipe into the centre of the house All pipes and then connected to the pressure gauge to take measurements Now 10 baseline pressure readings taken without the fan running Now with the fan running, we are pressurising the house taking 7 readings with no more than 10 pascals difference per reading. Back outside to take temperatures in and out again. Then back inside to get another 10 baseline pressure readings without the fan running. All data inputted into the software to produce the result which needs to be equal or less than your design target derived from your SAP calculation Lovely job Keith, another happy customer.
