Taking place at the Teknofest 2021 exhibition in Istanbul, Turkey on September 21, 2021, PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) with Turkish Aerospace from Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) Industrial Collaboration Agreement. The main points in the cooperation are N219 Production Extension in Bandung, Modernization and Life Extension of Turkish CN235 fleet, Engineering Support of Turkish Aerospace's Development Project, and N245 Joint Development and Production. Well related to the development and joint production of the N245 regional passenger aircraft is interesting to observe. Earlier in 2017, the N245 aircraft worked by PTDI and the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (LAPAN) was included in the National Strategic Project (PSN). But in May 2020, the Government decided to remove two National aircraft development projects, the N245 and R80, from the list of National Strategic Projects.Nevertheless, the N245 project continues despite the development time to be a moleor of the targets that have been proclaimed by PTDI.The question is, how much money is needed for the development of the N245?.It said the development cost of N245 was about 190 million dollars or Rp 2.47 trillion. This was revealed by PTDI's Director of Production, Arie Wibowo, to the National media in March 2017. The N245 will be equipped with a Pratt &Whitney Canada (PWC) PW127Z turboprop engine with a six-blade propeller. The CN235 has a General Electric (GE) CT7-9C3 engine with four propeller blades. For its dimensions, the N245 has a length of 22.65 meters with a height of 7.4 meters and a wingspan of 25.8 meters. The N245's passenger capacity is between 40 and 54 people and has a range of up to 1,100 km for a single flight. His closest opponent was the ATR-42.
