Sorry about the shakiness of this video, the wind was blowing quite hard. This is the monthly test of the Newberry County siren system. This 1003 was installed in 1963. It was re-painted and re-mounted in the 1990s. It is located at the Silverstreet Fire Department on Main Street. Newberry County tests on the fourth Saturday of the month at 12:00 P.M. This has not yet been confirmed nor denied, but Newberry County may be changing their testing schedule to quarterly tests. I know what you are about to type in the comments. "Why did the blower shut off early?" As confirmed by @PalmettoStateSirens, the relief valve turned off early because the blower had not been used for upwards of 3 years during its hiatus, rusting it shut and tripping the contactor, shutting the blower down. The problem has since been fixed. Hopefully this siren will serve the small community of Silverstreet for many more years. I hope you enjoy!
