Pr Benatta Endoscopie Digestive Alger: Oesophageal stenosis squamous epithelium keratinisation

Video of a lower oesophagus keratinisation with gastroesophageal junction stenosis was revealed at upper gastroscopy, in 65 years old male patient without history of ingestion of caustic substances, alcohol, tobacco use or achalasia but with gastroesophageal reflux, progressive dysphagia and weight loss. Histological findings on deep biopsies were high dysplastic areas without evidence of malignancy. Given the strongly endoscopic and clinical suspicion of verrucous carcinoma, a rare variant of squamous cell carcinoma was evocated .This lesion was considered at least as a premalignant stage of verrucous squamous carcinoma. This rare video shows a challenging diagnostic of esophageal squamous epithelium keratinisation often reported in combination with verrucous carcinoma.
