Toronto Police have asked for the help of any witnesses in their investigation into the death of an international student from India near a subway station. Kartik Vasudev, a 21-year-old management student at the city's Seneca College, was the victim. Police were called to a report of a gunshot about 5 p.m. on Thursday. The young student was found shot at the Toronto Transit Corporation's Sherbourne station. An off-duty paramedic tried to save Vasudev's life, but he did not survive. He "had several gunshot wounds and was transferred to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries," police said. Police are looking for witnesses "who were in the area at the time, as well as any cars or businesses that have video footage" of the crime. The murder occurred at rush hour in Toronto, near the Indian Consulate building. Vasudev, who is originally from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, was a Seneca College first-semester marketing management student.
