In this cinematic journey, we travel to MoM-z14, the most distant galaxy ever observed by the James Webb Space Telescope. Detected when the universe was 280 million years old, MoM-z14 pushes the limits of the observable universe. Join us as we cross intergalactic space and explore the science behind one of the earliest galaxies ever discovered. Now sit back, and travel with us across intergalactic space. This video is not just about reaching a distant destination, it's about the journey itself. MoM-z14 formed at a time when the universe was still in its infancy, long before heavy elements, like iron became common. Because of this, the formation of planets, especially rocky worlds like Earth, would have been extremely unlikely at that stage. Using Space Engine as a visualization tool, we recreate a speculative fly-through of this ancient and distant galaxy. The gas giants shown in this video are theoretical models only, representing what might have existed in such a young cosmic environment. As we approach the edge of the observable universe, we also explore key concepts, such as: Cosmic expansion Light-travel distance vs. present-day distance Redshift and why distant galaxies appear red to our telescopes Early star formation and stellar lifecycles This is not just a video about the present universe, it is a window into the past, more than 13 billion years ago. If gas giants existed in galaxies like MoM-z14, what do you think their cores would be made of in a universe with almost no heavy elements? Leave your thoughts in the comments. And if you enjoy cinematic space journeys, where science, scale, and wonder come first, you are exactly where you belong.
