Released in early access in 2019 for iOS and Android before a full launch in 2020, The Elder Scrolls: Blades is a first-person RPG from Bethesda. Players, as former Blades, return to their ruined town, only to uncover the schemes of the Sorcerer King—a tyrant seeking to regain his lost power. As they rebuild, they battle his forces, aid the Bloodfall Queen, and ultimately face him in a climactic showdown. The game arrived on Nintendo Switch in 2020 with optional motion controls, but planned PlayStation, Xbox, and VR ports were seemingly canceled. While Blades captures Elder Scrolls aesthetics, its timers, microtransactions, and repetitive quests led to mixed reviews. NOTE: Towards the end of the game, I did end up enabling some health and damage hacks to finish things off.
