Follow me on Instagram to see way way more content on my Celica: / skullhunter.9 I made a new video explaining how the Idle Air Control Valve works and other parts that could cause a rough idle: • Celica Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) ... Thanks! I watched this video a few times before attempting this job for myself: • High / Low Idle RPM fix - IACV cleani... This link above is a way better tutorial than mine. It isn't a celica, but it is the same design of throttle body and IACV, due to it being a similar, if not same 1zzfe, but in a Rav4. My engine would idle on the low end when the engine got to operating temperatures. 99% of online forums said it was the Idle Air Control Valve that needed to be cleaned after 20+ years. A new one from Toyota is $250+ while a Used one is roughly $50 - $70, but you'd have to buy the throttle body with it depending on the seller. Even then the used one would also have to be cleaned. The valve does in fact work, it just needs to be cleaned from all the dirt and carbon build up. This job took me roughly 3 hours and some new coolant. Either cover up your coolant if you intend on reusing it, or have some fresh coolant on hand. I left mine open and ended up getting dirt mixed into it. Thanks for watching!
