Built in 1862, the Morse–Brush–Spaanum House is a Italianate second empire inspired home that has stood for more than 160 years. From its beginnings with Peter and Phoebe Morse; early settlers from Vermont. To over a century in the Brush family, this house has quietly witnessed generations of life unfold within its walls. Born here, Laura Brush Spaanum lived in the home her entire life, caring for her family and preserving its legacy. Later caretakers loved the house just as deeply, even as time and loss slowed its restoration. Today, the house stands weathered but waiting. Through my newly formed nonprofit, this will be our first restoration project the start of a mission to preserve historic homes before they’re lost forever. These places are more than wood and plaster. They are families, memory, and time itself. And they deserve to be saved. Every dollar truly helps us save a home. https://www.endangeredplaces.org/ #EndangeredPlaces #HistoricPreservation #SaveOldHouses #Italianate #VictorianArchitecture #HistoricHomes #PreserveHistory #OldHousesMatter #ArchitectureLovers #HistoryMatters #ForgottenPlaces #AbandonedButNotForgotten #PreservationWorks #historicpreservation
