He is a writer, researcher, and speaker. JS is Chairman of British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO) BAPIO | British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, Board member of the Synergi Collaborative Centre Synergi Collaborative Centre - Synergi Collaborative Centre and a trustee of two charitable organisations – LMCP charity for disadvantaged people from the South Asian community Home - LMCP and the African and Caribbean Mental Health Services acmh-services.co.uk | Working for the community, in the community (acmh-services.co.uk). He is Deputy Chairman of the Board of Science, BMA. JS has served on two international editorial boards, two national editorial boards, and published over 50 medical publications, many as first author. He has nearly 100 publications in the tabloid press, co-authored an influential RCPsych Council report, written 3 book chapters, and edited the short story ‘Taxing the Heart’. He lectures nationally and internationally on a range of topics, to lay and health audiences. He does a regular webcast lecture for UNESCO, which is transmitted across several countries. Dr Farzana Hussain: She lives and works in Newham, East London. She has been a GP principal at The Project Surgery for 18 years and looks after a list of 5000 patients and a mum of two teenagers. She is a Primary Care Network Clinical Director for Newham Central and nationally, she is Co-Chair of the NHS Confederation PCN Network. She was awarded GP of the Year in 2020. Her philosophy as a GP is to be able to connect and comfort even when we can’t cure. Dr Anil Jain: "I am a highly experienced thought Leader and strategic thinker with extensive clinical, managerial, teaching, research, & board level experience, both within and outside the NHS. I am a strong team player, collaborator, innovator, constructive challenger & firm believer in accountability & governance. I am an alumnus of the Nye Bevan programme in Executive Healthcare Leadership & a Senior BAME Influencer at the NHS Leadership Academy and @APNA NHS, helping develop inclusive leadership in the NHS. I have very effective chairing skills with a lot of experience. I am a regular presenter at various conferences, panel discussions & webinars." "I am a member of the BMA UK Council, UK Consultants Committee and Equality, Diversity, & Inclusion Advisory Group. I have led the setting up of the BMA National BAME Members Forum & Regional BAME networks and enhancing support for the International Medical Graduates (IMG) via the BMA IMG Steering Group. As Deputy Chair for the BMA Community Care Committee, I am leading on improving support for Care Homes, Nursing Homes & Hospices residents especially on the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on them." "In my day job, I am a Consultant Radiologist with experience of clinical, teleradiology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), teaching & research work. I have undertaken various Senior Management & Leadership roles including Medical Staff Governor, Clinical Director, Radiology Lead for the Manchester Mobile MRI Pilot, Chair of the Annual Plan Committee at my Trust with board level experience. I have been an Hon. Professor at University of Salford and am currently an Hon. Senior Lecturer at University of Manchester. I am also an Academic Advisor for Medical Students at the Manchester Medical School, University of Manchester."
