Protecting our Students: Catholic School Security in the Diocese of Fort Worth

With rising security threats, including a 60% increase in active shooter incidents in 2023 and an 800% rise in attacks on faith-based organizations since 2019, the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth has implemented key safety measures under the leadership of Director of Security Mike Short. A major initiative includes employing armed personnel, such as off-duty and retired police officers, to enhance security and foster a culture of safety.
