Gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed's son, Asad Ahmed, and one Ghulam, both wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case were killed in an encounter with the Uttar Pradesh Police in Jhansi. The encounter was carried out by the Special Task Force (STF) team of UP Police, led by Deputy SPs Navendu and Vimal.
