James Ragan, 81, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 thyroid cancer two weeks prior, takes his Shahadah (Declaration of Faith) with Sheikh Alauddin El-Bakri, himself a cancer survivor, and Qari Amar Bellaha after Jumu'ah prayer services on Friday, November 22, 2024. His wife Victoria Ragan had taken her Shahada five years prior. Brother James informed his wife this week that he wants to become a Muslim after seeing the positive changes Islam had brought to her life.
