This episode begins high in the Peruvian Andes, where we wind our way down toward Nazca and finally reach the legendary Panamericana. After weeks of mountain driving, cruising along the coast feels almost too easy… until the desert throws us a major curveball: a badly slashed tire inside Paracas National Reserve, miles from help. What follows is a full day of strategizing and recalculating. We limp our way to the small beach town of Cerro Azul, grab some much-needed food, and figure out our next move. The tire seems beyond repair — which means one thing: we need new ones. And for that, there’s no avoiding Lima. So instead of reaching the capital at a convenient hour, we find ourselves battling its infamous peak-hour traffic, racing the clock to make our appointment at the tire shop. It’s chaotic, stressful, and definitely not the coastal drive we’d imagined… but it’s all part of overlanding life.
