On December 23, 2025, the Baotou–Huining section of the Baotou–Yinchuan high-speed railway was officially opened to traffic, marking the full completion of the entire 519-kilometer line. Six newly built stations along the route will begin operation simultaneously with the high-speed rail service. This "steel artery" connecting Inner Mongolia and Ningxia has brought the cities of Bayannur and Wuhai into the high-speed rail era for the first time, reducing the travel time between Baotou and Yinchuan to as little as 2 hours and 38 minutes. Reporters from China Media Group will conduct relay live broadcasts from Baotou Station and Bayannur Station in Inner Mongolia along the inaugural train route to showcase the changes brought about by the opening of this line.
