VN24 - 14.11.2020 - Unna / Germany - After a traffic accident on the highway A1 on Saturday afternoon an semi-trailer truck tipped over and blocked the directional roadway Bremen. The following blockade dragged on for hours. Nobody was injured in the accident. According to initial information, a 44-year-old man drove his truck off the road to the left, presumably due to a burst tire. His vehicle then collided with the central crash barrier between the Dortmund/Unna freeway junction and the Kamen-Zentrum junction. The truck then overturned and came to a halt at a right angle to the roadway, blocking all three lanes and the hard shoulder. The oncoming lane towards Cologne was also affected. Debris and parts of the fruit load (22 tons of persimmons) were scattered here. The traffic could only go over the hard shoulder. The rescue and cleaning work took several hours. The right and middle lane in the direction of Cologne could be reopened at about 01:25 pm. In the direction of Bremen this was only possible again at about 5.45 a.m. The left lane remained closed in both directions for the repair of the crash barrier.
