WebSite: http://www.LiveLifeDIY.com Google+: http://Gplus.to/CaptRobLee What are a couple of ways you can begin Self-sufficient living? Living self-sufficient. Living independent. What are the key factors? What are a couple of ways to begin becoming self-sufficient? What we want is freedom from the capitalistic economic system, the hamster wheel. And you, we, want a healthier quality of life. Right? Step one freedom from the system. The work, earn, buy, spend never ending circle. The hamster wheel. Stop and think about it. Yes, we have to work and you might even like your work and that’s awesome. What can you do about the never ending circle? Eliminate debt. It’s no fun to think about debt, owing other’s. To be self-sufficient and independent we must think about it and get rid of it. Every dollar you spend on your existing debt is another dollar you have to go back to work tomorrow and earn again. What else can you do? Along with eliminating debt, reduce consumption. Where can you scale back? Do you really need the latest and greatest whatever? I’m not saying everyone needs to be a minimalist. Life outside the hamster wheel doesn’t have to look different than life inside the hamster wheel. We all need to buy stuff, to be consumers. I’m talking about reducing, eliminating, excessive consumerism. Just because a new smartphone comes out do you really need one? Step two quality of life. Industrial food versus local farm food. Industrial produced food isn’t healthy food. Industrial agriculture uses chemical fertilizers and pesticides in a completely artificial way. It’s all about making money, not making healthy food. You increase your quality of life by growing your own food and by supporting local farmers. The healthiest food is produced by family farmers. Local farmers have an intimate relation to the land they farm. Think about the foods you like to eat. Look at your shopping list. What choices, what changes, can you make to feed yourself and your family healthier foods. Everything you do has a purpose. Make sure it has the correct purpose. So, think about freedom from the capitalistic economic system and what a healthier quality of life means to you. If you have any questions about becoming self-sufficient, ask.
