Now this was an interesting one. I've been wanting to do another Stuck Inside animation ever since I did the first one to be honest--I was never particularly happy with the original animation I did for the song. There were some concepts I liked in it but, ultimately, it was very rushed and had a lot of issues. This one I took a lot more time on and I can confidently say I'm much more satisfied with the finished product. In hindsight there's a few little things I wish I did differently maybe, though compared to the original animation I did for the song I'd say this is definitely better. I feel inclined to explain some creative decisions I took, so the points below are me doing that. Original Song By Black Gryph0n and Baasik: • STUCK INSIDE (Feat: The Living Tombstone &... -The Vibapop models are obviously very stylized renditions of FNaF characters, and ones that I really like. I think they fit the vibe of Black Gryph0n's song very well and I've been wanting to use them in a music animation for quite some time. That said, I don't think SFM does them justice. I found it pretty difficult to "sell" them scene-by-scene because, put simply, I think they work most effectively in cartoonish settings. SFM is a tad limited when it comes to setting-setup and unfortunately there's no FNaF Maps for SFM that really give that equally cartoony vibe. Still, they were really fun to use. -The last segment of the animation (When Afton is on the platform singing his heart out, falling into the abyss, etc) was really fun to do. It's not something I've ever done before and there was some complex movements I got to do that I also haven't done before (ala Afton smashing through a breakable wall before hitting another wall.) Oddly enough if there was one thing I wish I kinda did differently it would be that end part I just spoke of; there's something that just doesn't quite click with me still about it and I imagine it's the fact that I don't think I particularly sold the "Springlock" scene as best as I could. I like the concept of the ghosts circling Afton, but even that I had trouble really actualizing because even as I was animating it something bothered me. Still better than the original animation I did though -You might be wondering why Afton (Springtrap) suddenly looks all "realistic" in the last shot (or more accurately, why he looks like his game-accurate self instead of the cartoony vibe.) That's partly because there's no Vibapop model version of Springtrap as of making this animation, but also partly because of how I sort of "interpreted" the song's take on William Afton. I mentioned before how the Vibapop models really compliment the tone of Stuck Inside--very upbeat, pop, etc--and to me it seems to depict William Afton as a very "carefree" dude (Carefree in that he lacks responsibility/consequences for his actions--"It's alright, I'll be fine, Safe Inside.") The general idea would be that the reason everything is "cartoony" with that upbeat vibe is because it's how Afton is perceiving the world around him (in a perfect world the actual settings would match that idea.) It's not until he "dies" that his false perception breaks and the harsh realism finally breaks through, revealing the true rotten decayed monster. You might even notice that the last few lyrics of the song lose the aforementioned upbeat tone, resorting to a more solemn slowness in contrast to the rest of the song. -Also, for those who might be wondering why I decided to animate the original version of Stuck Inside over the GC5 version--truth be told I prefer this one over that one. CG5's segment in that version doesn't really hit with me like this one's second verse. I love the line "When you hide remains, what remains?" and so on so forth. I MIGHT do a short animation in the future simply adapting that CG5 section of the song, we'll see. Anywho, that's enough yapping from me, sorry for the lengthy discussion. In any case, I hope you enjoyed it! Peace out.
