This panel considered the role of the UN in international peace and security, in upholding human rights and international law, and advancing the women, peace and security agenda:   Lord George Robertson, former NATO Secretary-General Sanam Anderlini, Founder & Director of the International Civil Society Action Network Andreas Persbo, Director of the Open Nuclear Network (a programme of PAX sapiens) and former UN peacekeeper in Lebanon Moderated by Jane Kinninmont, CEO of UNA-UK UNGA at 80: From 1946 to Our Future was hosted by the United Nations Association – UK in London on 17 January 2026. The event marked 80 years of the United Nations General Assembly and took place in the same historic room at Methodist Central Hall Westminster where the General Assembly first met in 1946.
