New Kontakt Drum Instrument Available - https://www.rsdrums.com/monarch Watch in HD!!!!! This is a drum play-through of a song titled 'Self Pollution' by Marty Friedman. Its off of his album titled 'Wall of Sound'. Last year (2016), I had the privilege of recording drums for my second album with Marty out in LA. The experience was amazing, and working with Marty is always a fun time. He knows exactly what he wants out of his music, and he definitely knows how to push his drummers. I've definitely learned a lot from working with Marty, both in studio and live. A couple of months ago, I had the even bigger privilege of playing live with Marty, filling in for a few shows at the beginning of his US tour. It was definitely one of the more stressful performances to prepare for because the material took me completely out of my comfort zone. We were playing ballads and rock songs with and with out click tracks. There were guest performances by audience members. Our set was almost two hours long, which was a first for me. I also hadn't performed live without a click in YEARS. It was an absolutely amazing learning experience for me. I plan to upload a few more songs by Marty that I recorded drums on. Some of the drumming is really intense for me because its not content Im used to playing on a regular basis. Even with the style of music I write for my own solo material doesn't prepare me for the type of drumming I have to do with Marty. This is what I love about working with him though. On a side note, Im not using my normal stack in this video because Marty doesn't like stacks... haha. So Im using two china's on my right side, which was actually pretty sick. Also, I bought a GoPro Hero 5 Black recently, and its amazing! I mounted it on the cloud that hangs over my drum kit for a neat overhead view of the kit. I definitely plan on using this more for future videos.
