Created in 2018 by BrokerTeam Insurance in Ontario, Canada, Project SPOTLIGHT aims to shine a light on the community's hidden needs by supporting small, local community organizations in their effort to raise awareness. Since 2018, Project SPOTLIGHT has organized innovative annual in-person community events with the support and sponsorship from numerous insurers and local businesses, such as inclusive movie events for both visually impaired and sighted audiences to enjoy a movie together in cinemas. This year in 2021, in lieu of a physical screening and event, Project SPOTLIGHT has done something new. With the support of our partners, including CAA Insurance, Aviva, Borlak Law Office, Baker Tilly, Broker Books and SGI Canada, Project SPOTLIGHT has invited a team of filmmakers from Common Factor Media to produce a mini documentary series on 3 small local community organizations to spotlight the humble but important roles they play in our community. This mini documentary series on 105 Gibson Centre, Good Foot Delivery, and Not Far from the Tree, will shine a spotlight on each group's unique approach to community connection. The series is now available across social media platforms, including YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, with the goal of promoting these 3 groups to a wider audience through the power of storytelling.
