4pm–approx. 5.30pm This public talk is held on the occasion of the exhibition "Who will save us?" by Silvia Kolbowski at Kunsthaus Glarus (September 4–November 27 2022). The panel will discuss Silvia Kolbowski's new film "Who will save us?" (2022) and "Missing Asher" (2019). Silvia Kolbowski was co-editor of the journal October from 1993 to 2000, and still serves today on the advisory board. She has taught in the Independent Study Program at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, the CCC master’s program at the Haute école d’art et de design in Geneva, the Architecture Department at Parsons School of Design in New York, and at the School of Art at Cooper Union in New York. Kolbowski's writings have appeared in numerous catalogs and art journals including Artforum, Texte zur Kunst, Documents, Parachute, and October. In 2013, she initiated a blog as an extension of her artistic practice, where she publishes cultural and political texts and analyses. In 2014, she received a Creative Capital award for this project from the Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant program. Luiza Nader Is an art historian, professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Author of the books: Konceptualizm w Polsce [Conceptual Art in Poland] (2009) and Afekt Strzemińskiego. Teoria widzenia, rysunki wojenne, Pamięci przyjaciół – Żydów [Strzemiński’s Affect. Theory of Seeing, War Drawings, In Memory of Friends—Jews] (2018). Her research is focused primarily on the XX century and contemporary art (with special focus on the art practices from the 60. and 70.), methodologies of art history, methods of oral history, memory discourse, theories of affect and trauma, relations between limit events/ experiences and the cultural field. Currently she is working on the visual notations, artifacts, reports and testimonies from and of the Holocaust, on the subject positions of the witnesses and the observers.
