Roguery and Poguery is a song I wrote about someone I always considered to be a great songwriter who embedded Punk music with Irish folk music, and was among the most talented song-writers of his generation. I was at his first gig in London as Pogue Mahone and I've been a fan ever since. He often mentions my band in London, as being an inspiration for his Irishness and his love of Irish songs and we talked about it into the small hours after a gig with The Popes, in Mustang Sally's niteclub in Killarney a few short years ago.. That group was called Dingle Spike. Afterwards I joined Schooners Rig who were another of the great bands playing the London circuit back in the late 80's. Great Memories !!
