The India Meteorological Department has forecast an active weather spell across large parts of the country this week, with widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, strong winds, and hailstorms expected in multiple regions. Northwest India to See Peak Activity on March 29–30 According to IMD, northwest India is likely to witness a significant spell of rain, with peak intensity on March 29 and 30. The Kashmir Valley may experience heavy rainfall or snowfall on March 30, while states including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan are expected to receive light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds reaching 30–50 kmph. Hailstorms are also likely at isolated places across Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and parts of Rajasthan during March 29–30. Hailstorm Threat Expands to Central India The weather department has warned of hailstorms in parts of central India between March 30 and 31, including Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh. These regions are also expected to witness thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over the next few days.
