About the speaker David Shrier BIO: David Shrier is a globally recognized expert on technology-driven innovation, having developed $10 billion of new enterprises for and with public and private companies across the Fortune 1000 and VC portfolios through his venture studio, Visionary Future. David also has a distinguished academic career, having left a rare dual appointment at MIT and Oxford to take up a posting as Professor of Practice, AI and Innovation with Imperial College Business School, where he leads the Translational AI Lab (TRAIL) within the Centre for Digital Transformation. He is known for creating the four most profitable online classes in history that deployed into over 150 countries, using cognitive science and eventually artificial intelligence to revolutionise digital learning for workforce enhancement. David also helped to create a national skills program regarding artificial intelligence for the Government of Canada that improved company formation and corporate adoption rates 50% above a benchmark accelerator programme. He co-founded and serves as Executive Chairman of AI training pioneer Esme Learning, which partners with global 2000 companies, governments, and 5 of the top 7 universities in the world (MIT, Oxford, Cambridge, etc.) to deliver critical digital transformation capabilities to working professionals. David’s public sector advisory work includes having advised or briefed, on technology and technology policy, including artificial intelligence and national competitiveness, the United Nations, UK Cabinet Office, the European Parliament, the European Commission, the US SEC, FINRA, the Commonwealth of Nations, the Government of Dubai and the OECD. A noted author, David has published 7 books in each of the past 7 years (winning 'Outstanding Academic Title' for his 2022 title Global Fintech, from MIT Press). He has written extensively on the impact of AI on career and organisations, including his book Augmenting Your Career: How to Win at Work in the Age of AI from Little, Brown. His 8th work, Basic Metaverse, is available this spring from Little, Brown and Harvard Business Press.
